Tuesday, May 1st, 2012The making of my iPad paintings

Ipad paintings
Sunday, January 22nd, 2012Finally got around to buying a decent painting app on my ipad as previously messed about with simple iphone painting apps but didn’t light my fire until recently. I’ve been using Brushes on an ipad2 with a Griffin stylus and it’s lots and lots of fun. Once you get used to the controls you can create really quickly and work within it’s initial limitations. I’d like to try out some different apps just to get a taste of what you can do as I’ve seen some incredibly impressive work created on ipads.
I’d really recommend exploring this more if you own an ipad.
Anyway, here’s a link to the batch that I’ve been creating over the last few days and a few pics below.

Getting To Kernow You exhibition 29th Sept
Saturday, September 17th, 2011Happy to announce my first solo exhibition for some time. I’ve recently rediscovered painting landscapes, not that they aren’t present in so many of my work but this time I’ve turned the spotlight directly on the landscape. In particular, the Cornish coastline. Silas UK were kind enough to offer me some space on the walls of their London shop after seeing some of the pieces so I’ve turned them into a show. Along with a little something I bought from a car boot sale and have ‘modified’. That’s a bit of a surprise for the night, but just a small one.
This will be the official re opening of the shop as well so really looking forward to the evening.
The show starts on the 29th September at Silas Uk and runs until the 27th October.
Painting on board the HMS Belfast
Wednesday, September 14th, 2011Really honoured to be involved in the fundraiser last night for Sea Shepherd on the HMS Belfast, painting with The Dead Sea Mob. Had a blast with the guys and was lucky to meet both Captain Paul Watson from the Steve Irwin ship and also Dave Brock from Hawkind! I recommend you take a look at the Sea Shepherd site to see the work they do protecting ocean giants from whaling fleets.
Live painting on HMS Belfast!
Wednesday, September 7th, 2011Really happy to announce that I’ve been invited by the Dead Sea Mob to paint alongside them on top of HMS Belfast moored in London. This is a fundraiser for Sea Shepherd UK and the captain himself will be aboard amongst many others….. Take a look at their site to find out the amazing work they do. It’s a tickets only night and monies going to Operation Divine Wind, defending whales in the Southern ocean.

Fowler at The Crow’s Nest at Glastonbury
Wednesday, June 15th, 2011Hi all, just a quick update on my shenanigans at Glastonbury this year. Firstly I’m going to be involved in the Crow’s Nest right at the top of the hill past the Park Field (the best field!).
We’re going to have some bands play acoustic sets up there as well as playing our albums of the morning and afternoon everyday, if you have an album you love and have an ipod of something to play it off feel free to pester us and we may well play it in it’s full glory. We may ask you to say a few words about it so don’t be shy!
The bands confirmed to play acoustic sets so far are… Metronomy, Stornoway, CocknBullKid, Summer Camp, Two Wounded Birds and Guillemots.
Plus more very special guests to be announced shortly…
Also I’ll be painting a piece up at the Crow’s Nest over the duration of the festival and the plan is to auction it off for charity at the end of play. I’ll most probably be painting some other bits and bobs up there so swing by, have a herbal tea and relax with some art and music.
Here’s some info about the Crow’s Nest..
“Looking out from the top of the hill across Glastonbury, The Crow’s Nest is the newest addition to The Park, a tiny refuge on the summit with a magical spirit. After last year’s success of secret acoustic shows by Villagers, Stornoway, Frightened Rabbit, Beth Jeans Houghton, Mountain Man, Magic Numbers and many more, this year The Crow’s Nest promises another great line-up of last-minute specials, including the lunchtime album of the day, the genius of Monsterism/Seahawks Pete Fowler, the rhythms of the Soul Jazz Sound System and a Moshi Moshi seaside special (as well as a few artists from the bigger stages making the climb to the very top).
It’s a trip well worth making.”
As well as all that I’m DJing at the marvellous Stonebridge bar on sunday night 12-1am and perhaps some other spots in and around the Park field, who knows!
Here’s a pic of Stornoway playing and a view from the Crow’s Nest last year, a great spot I’m sure you’d all agree, well worth the climb up the hill. Hope to see you there!
