Hi all, just a quick update on my shenanigans at Glastonbury this year. Firstly I’m going to be involved in the Crow’s Nest right at the top of the hill past the Park Field (the best field!).
We’re going to have some bands play acoustic sets up there as well as playing our albums of the morning and afternoon everyday, if you have an album you love and have an ipod of something to play it off feel free to pester us and we may well play it in it’s full glory. We may ask you to say a few words about it so don’t be shy!
The bands confirmed to play acoustic sets so far are… Metronomy, Stornoway, CocknBullKid, Summer Camp, Two Wounded Birds and Guillemots.
Plus more very special guests to be announced shortly…
Also I’ll be painting a piece up at the Crow’s Nest over the duration of the festival and the plan is to auction it off for charity at the end of play. I’ll most probably be painting some other bits and bobs up there so swing by, have a herbal tea and relax with some art and music.
Here’s some info about the Crow’s Nest..
“Looking out from the top of the hill across Glastonbury, The Crow’s Nest is the newest addition to The Park, a tiny refuge on the summit with a magical spirit. After last year’s success of secret acoustic shows by Villagers, Stornoway, Frightened Rabbit, Beth Jeans Houghton, Mountain Man, Magic Numbers and many more, this year The Crow’s Nest promises another great line-up of last-minute specials, including the lunchtime album of the day, the genius of Monsterism/Seahawks Pete Fowler, the rhythms of the Soul Jazz Sound System and a Moshi Moshi seaside special (as well as a few artists from the bigger stages making the climb to the very top).
It’s a trip well worth making.”
As well as all that I’m DJing at the marvellous Stonebridge bar on sunday night 12-1am and perhaps some other spots in and around the Park field, who knows!
Here’s a pic of Stornoway playing and a view from the Crow’s Nest last year, a great spot I’m sure you’d all agree, well worth the climb up the hill. Hope to see you there!
